Dave Steedsman passed away peacefully with his wife, Lynn by his side while at the Carmel Hospice – St. Joseph’s Home in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at the age of 68 years.  Dave was born in Peace River, Alberta June 9, 1945.  Following his school years, he apprenticed to become a journeyman auto body man.  Dave had a passion for cars and it was evident in his work and the business he owned, Daylyn Auto Appraisals.  He loved his cars and built many from the ground up.  If there was an auto body hall of fame, Dave would be in there as he was a legend in his time!  For the past 14 years he has worked in the insurance industry as an appraiser for Wawanesa Insurance.  Dave was a dedicated and devoted family man and will be deeply missed by his wife, Lynn; two sons, Lawrence and Jeff (Pam);  two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Brittney as well as numerous extended family.  He was predeceased by his grandparents whom raised him.  A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, October 21, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Sid Nelson officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cook southland.com)  Memorial donations in Dave’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 Crestwood Square One, 1865 Dunmore Road S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 1Z8.  Honoured to serve the family is Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13th Street S.W. 1. J & C Schreiber says:

Our thoughts and prayers to Lynn and the entire Steedsman family. I was very fortunate to be friends with Dave, and worked with him at Hi-Tech for a short time. Dave always had a story to share, and I have many humerous memories of Dave and his ability to make me laugh. I laughed and learned from Dave, and cherish the good times. Again, thoughts and prayers to the family.

  2. Mike & Fran Coyne says:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lynn and family.
Dave was a true hot rodder, which was evident in his pride and care of his beloved car ‘Poison Ivy’.
We have great memories of our travels with Dave & Lynn in our cars. He kept the 50’s alive, and will be missed by all of our generation.

  3. Dawn says:
