Mrs. Carol-Ann Carol Scorgie of Redcliff, beloved wife of the late Gerald Scorgie, passed away on Sunday, January 5th, 2014 at the age of 76 years. Carol leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Rhonda Côté of Ralston and Trina (Larry) Szklaruk of Redcliff; her son-in-law, Pierre Côté; five grandchildren, Alicia (Mike) Millar, Kristine Côté (Daniel MacLaughin), Cassandra Côté, Devin Szklaruk and Garett Szklaruk; three great grandchildren, Ethan, Aiden and Ava; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Scorgie; her parents, Charles and Virginia Peterson; and one brother, Gary Peterson. Carol was born on December 6th, 1937 in Port Alberni, BC and grew up in New Westminster, BC. She joined the military at an early age, where she met Gerald and they were married on Christmas Eve 1958. They lived the military life, moving across Canada and the United States every couple of years. They settled in Genelle, BC in 1989. Carol later moved to Redcliff to be closer to her daughters. She was a very strong, kind and loving lady. She was always ready for get- togethers with family and friends to play cards, games or go camping. Carol loved to travel and would drive from BC to Manitoba to visit with her grandkids, stopping to visit family and friends along the way. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, ceramics, hot tubbing, and spending time with her dogs and in her earlier years, her horses. Her favorite trips were to the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg and her weekend trip to Spruce Meadows. Carol was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. A Private Family Time of Remembrance will take place. Memorial gifts in Carols memory may be made to the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 4H6.
