1941 ~ LUND ~ 2015
Posted: April 22nd, 2015
Joyce Marion Lund of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Al Lund, passed away on Friday, April 17th, 2015 at the age of 73 years. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Tammy Lund and Corinne O’Brien, both of Medicine Hat; three grandchildren, Haley O’Brien, Rachel O’Brien and Wylder Gunderman; one brother, John (Margaret) Rygh; one sister, Alice Grummett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Al; her parents, Oly and Mary Rygh; and her siblings, Olga (Stewart) Sutherland, Kenneth Rygh, Clara (Jim) Thrower, Beatrice (George) Basik, twin sister Ruby Gray and Annie (Frank) Bahr; and brother-in-law, Nelson Grummett. Joyce was generous and kind – a one-of-a-kind lovable lady with an excellent sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was a jack of all trades and her favorite tools were ‘tape and string’. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and her door was always open for anyone (three generations resided in the family home). Joyce loved gardening and all of her animals. Her beloved pup, Lily, who was always by her side decided to stay with us. The Funeral Service will be held at the Windsor Chapel, 704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon, on Saturday, April 25th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Sherry Oulette officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. A Come and Go Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #17, 702 – 2nd Street SE, Medicine Hat, on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The family extends an invitation to all who knew and loved her including the firefighters, EMS, police, doctors and nurses in Emergency, and all others who have been so helpful with donations and generosity to our family. You are all heroes! Memorial gifts in Joyce’s memory may be made to Medicine Hat & District Health Foundation, Burn Unit, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6. “OK Mom, fix this one with tape and string!” Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Joyce Lund.
