ELEANOR McDOUGALL
Posted: December 12th, 2017It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Eleanor McDougall. Originally from Medicine Hat, Eleanor peacefully passed away in Calgary on November 18, 2017 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her parents, Laverne McDougall in 1937, Ella McDougall in 2003, as well as her special step grandmother Ida McCombs in 1948. In keeping with Eleanor’s request, no funeral, or formal graveside service will be held.
I am sorry to hear of Eleanor’s passing. She and I met in Calgary in the 1970’s through her friend Clare, were good friends for many years, traveled together (one trip was a memorable cruise to the South Pacific) and in later years had good telephone chats with lots of laughter over shared memories of people and places.
The last time I spoke with Eleanor, she had just come home from hospital. I phoned again but her phone had been disconnected. I knew she had probably moved to a care facility but couldn’t track her down.
Eleanor so much appreciated the care and concern shown to her by her family.
She will be missed.

I am sorry to hear of Eleanor’s passing. We met in Calgary in the 1970’s through our mutual friend Clare, traveled together and in later years enjoyed telephone chats filled with laughter over memories of people and places.
Eleanor was so appreciative of the care and concern shown to her by her family. She will be missed.
