Posted: August 28th, 2018

Clarence “Skip” Morley Myers, beloved husband of Memory Myers of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 at the age of 92 years. Clarence Myers was born October 6th, 1925 in Calgary, AB to Benjamin Fredrick and Edith May Myers. Raised in Abbey, SK, Clarence’s nickname “Skip” became prevalent as a child as skipping was his favorite way of getting around this small prairie town. He graduated from High School and immediately felt called to serve in the military where he remained in service for 27 years. His postings were mostly throughout Canada but the most memorable was Dundurn, SK where he met the love of his life, Memory Velva Jackson. They were married April 19th, 1949 and were blessed with three beautiful children, Lynn Dee, Morley Grant and Larry Dean. Skip’s last posting was Suffield, AB. He left the Canadian military as a Warrant Officer 2nd class in 1972 and began working for BATUS. In 1984, he moved on to managing the local liquor store in Ralston until its closing. He was an active member of the Suffield community until 2011 at which time he and Memory moved to Medicine Hat. Skip was predeceased by his son, Morley; his sisters, Pearl, Florence, Thelma, Ettie and Lettie; and his brothers, Arthur, Bert and Clint. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Memory and their children, Lynn Myers (Jay) and Larry (Sally); grandchildren, Joel (fiancée Crystal), Simon, Hannah, and Stephen; as well as remaining family members and friends. His family would like to sincerely thank all the staff from Sunnyview for their excellent care and support for Skip during the remaining years of his life.
