FRED BORZEL
Posted: December 6th, 2018It is with saddened hearts that the family of Frederick Charles Borzel announce his passing at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice on Friday, November 30, 2018, at the age of 84 years. Along with Ann, his beloved wife of almost 62 years, left to cherish Fred’s memory are his daughters, Cindy Schlosser (Keith) and her children, Ryan (Steph) and their children, Taylor and Wynter and Ryley (Jessie) and their children, Ryker and Tytan; Shelly (Ivan) Martens and their children Kayla (Tyler) and Desa (Jeff); his four-legged family, Coors, Milee, Malibu, Kona and Preacher; siblings, Art Borzel, Annette Lawyer and Bob (Bridgett) Borzel; Ann’s brother, Erven (Gail) Mackintosh as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Fred was predeceased by his son-in-law, Guy Schlosser; parents, August and Alice as well as his step-mother, Grace. For 50 years, Fred and Ann lived in Swift Current and on the farm at Waldeck before moving to Medicine Hat to be closer to their family. In his earlier years, Fred was involved with 4-H with his girls and enjoyed time spent on the farm raising and breaking horses and later, driving chuckwagons and chariots. He enjoyed watching many sports and especially enjoyed participating in curling. Fred loved traveling to steam engine shows and building his own smaller scale steam engine but nothing beat time spent with his family and friends. He was a kind and helpful person who will be dearly missed. Fred’s life will be silently remembered without the proceedings a formal funeral service.
