Having been diagnosed with Alzheimers disease five years ago, Thomas Andrew Nicoll has succumbed to his illness. Tom passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the age of 82 years at the Good Samaritans with his family by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Arlene of 61 years; son, Rick (Peggy Reding) and daughter-in-law, Robin Yam. Tom will also be remembered by his sisters, Jean Klaudt, Barb (John) Roberts, Evelyn Bootland; brother, Neil (Susan Schank); brother-in-law, Mark (Sonja) Marshall, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was predeceased by his son, Jack Nicoll; parents, Thomas and Norma Nicoll; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herb and Christiana Seitz; sisters, Dorothy Hammel and Valerie Marshall, including brothers-in-law, nephews and other family members. To all who knew him, Tom will be remembered as a quiet gentle soul with a quick smile and wit to match. He had an unwavering love for his family. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again one hour prior to the service. Tom’s life will be celebrated at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
