1948 ~ RITA KOHLMAN ~ 2019

Rita Kohlman of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, February 15th, 2019 at the age of 70 years. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Karen Kohlman and Lois Nozewski; grandchildren, Anna and Nick; brothers, John (Gloria), Paul (Carolyn), Peter (Penny) and Morris (Rene); sisters, Mary, Olive (George), Cathy (Cliff), Anne, Susan (Nigel), Margaret (Mel), Theresa (Dean), Ellen, Louise (Adrian), and Isabel (Glen); and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Nick Kohlman; parents, John and Elizabeth Donovan; partner, John McKenna; son in-law, Andrzej Nozewski; and sisters, Elaine and Bernadette. Rita was born on May 9th, 1948 in Maidstone, SK and was raised on the family farm in Waseca, SK. She graduated from Vermillion College in 1966. The following year she married Nick, and together they raised their family in Hughenden, Alberta. In 1990, they moved to Medicine Hat, AB. After Nick’s passing in 1998, she continued to work in Medicine Hat until her retirement. She met John and then moved to Lethbridge until his passing in 2017. Rita loved to dance; taking lessons, teaching others, and spending as much time as she could on the dance floor. Rita believed her precious gift was time spent with family and friends. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment they spent together. She leaves behind many wonderful memories for her friends and family to treasure.
