1939 ~ 2019

Mrs. Catherine Mary ‘Connie’ Sheardown, beloved wife of the late Mr. James ‘Jim’ Sheardown, passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Monday, March 11, 2019, at the age of 79 years. Connie leaves to cherish her memory four children: James (Coreen) Sheardown, Scott (Brenda) Sheardown, Donna-Lee (Collin) Sheardown-Stabler, Carmen (Mike) Rath; seven grandchildren, Brock Sheardown, Shelby Sheardown, Christopher Sheardown, Jake Rath, Travis Rath, Rylan Stabler and Tyson Stabler. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in 2011; parents, John and May Slobodin; daughter, Colleen Sheardown in 2018 as well as all eight of her siblings. Connie was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on September 30, 1939. She has resided in the Medicine Hat area since 1964 and will be fondly remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, March 14, 2019, between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Connie’s life will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 635 – 4 Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Friday, March 15, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Dr. Oz Lorentzen officiating. Private Interment will follow later in the day at Hillside Cemetery.
