Mr. Gordon William Vaessen, beloved husband of Mrs. Ann Vaessen, passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the age of 82 years. Along with Ann, left to cherish Gordon’s memory are his children, Dana (Leonard) Lamontagne, Leisa (Andrew) Kraska, Doug (Marianne) Vaessen and Scott Vaessen; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Marie (Gerry) Zimmer as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his son, Michael; parents, Leo and Mary; brothers, Peter (June), Frank, Chuck (Betty), Len (Isabel), Paul (Clara), Edward, Norbert (Joyce); sisters, Helen (Bruce) and Joan. Gordon was married to Ann for almost 61 years and worked for SaskPower for 41 years. He will be greatly missed! The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat, on Friday, April 12, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Iqbal Khurshid celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Parish Hall.
