1930 ~ ADELINE STUBER ~ 2019

Posted: April 16th, 2019

Mrs. Adeline Stuber of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late John Stuber, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12th, 2019 at the age of 88 years. Adeline leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sharon Stuber, Delvin (Maggie) Stuber and Darwin (Joyce) Stuber; three grandchildren, Bailey (Lyall) Foran, Austin Stuber (Kara Needham) and Wyatt Stuber; two great granddaughters, Sadayah and Bristol; her brother, Jimmy Rath; four sisters, Lorraine Dirk, Eileen (Cyril) Braconnier, Phyllis (Johnny) Lanz and Kathy (Bob) Fuller; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Adeline was predeceased by her husband, John Stuber on April 2nd, 2001; her granddaughter, Chelsey Stuber on April 9th, 2001; her parents, Jacob and Katherine Rath; two brothers, Ed Rath (in infancy) and Art Rath; and two sisters, Annie Rieger and Alma Krassman. Adeline was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She was a hard-working rancher’s wife, keeping the house and helping outside on the ranch. Adeline was an excellent cook, baker, gardener—loved her flowers—and enjoyed crafts of all sorts, knitting, sewing, crocheting, embroidery and macramé, to name a few. She drove school bus for many years, worked in the Auxiliary at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital cleaning tools and light housekeeping and she was often commended for her great work ethic. Later in life, Adeline cleaned the church and several homes, and volunteered at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Gift Shop. Adeline and John travelled to several places later in life, several of which stood out, Churchill to see the Seals and Polar Bears and seeing the beauty of Alaska. Adeline was an excellent 5-pin bowler and earned many medals and trophies to prove it. She also enjoyed playing cards, crib and whist with friends at the Veiner Centre and loved swimming, which she learned after she turned 65! The family wishes to thank Dr. Bratvold for his excellent care and for going above and beyond for Mom. Adeline truly appreciated it and enjoyed going to see him. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jamie McDonald officiating. A private interment will take place at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Adeline’s memory may be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta, 120 – 6835 Railway Street SE, Calgary, AB T2H 2V6.
