1980 ~ 2019

A tragic accident has taken the life of our dearest family member, Amara Rose Meyer, on Monday, May 27, 2019, at the age of 39 years. Amara was born on March 10, 1980, the older twin to her brother, Terry. Her lifestyle may not have been traditional but a few words to describe it would be spontaneous, adventurous and living on the edge. Amara has impacted all of our lives in many different ways but the one thing we can all share is the priceless value she holds on family. Family to her was not just by blood but determined by her open heart. Amara had many challenges she overcame and was a kind and loving person to all around her. She was an incredible person that we all loved who will forever and always be in our hearts. Amara is survived by her mother and pops, Joanne (Perry) Bennett; father, Merle Meyer; twin brother, Terry (Alexis) Meyer, and their children, Isabel and Elizabeth; step-sister, Maria (Darren) Middleton and their children, Claude, Marcus and Anthony; Arthur Bennett and his children, Jayden and twins, Jaxson and Lucas; Tiffany Bennett and her son, Xzavier as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Amara was predeceased by her grand-parents, Herbert and Alice Meyer; Paul and Mary Oster as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so beginning one hour prior to Vigil Prayers at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat, on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father Vijaya Bathineni officiating followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery.     My heart aches for the loss of this lovely young woman. I am familiar with her many struggles from a young age and in spite of all that she was a kind, gentle and sweet soul. I had the pleasure of knowing her but for a short while and we held each other in high regard. My sincerest condolences to her twin, her parents and to all who loved her. A new rose grows in heaven, may you rest in peace and be in harmony with the cosmos.
