EVA UNREINER
Posted: June 10th, 20191935 ~ 2019
Eva Marie Unreiner passed away from congestive heart failure on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at the age of 83 years. She was loved and will be remembered always by her husband of 63 years, Edward Unreiner and their daughters; Peggy (Dave) Curthoys, Cathy (Drew) Drinnan, Maureen (Guy) Woelfle, Mary-Jane (Ed) Templeton along with her grand-children, Leigh (Tyler), Jocelyn, Angela, Nicole, Grace and Lloyd. Eva will be reunited with her cherished first born baby girl. She was the eldest daughter of Joseph† and Catherine† Schlachter and grew up on the family farm near Etzikom along with her brothers, Tony, Andy, Robert, George†, and sisters, Rosella and Jacquie. Left to mourn are her extended Schlachter and Unreiner (Ralph† and Rose†) families. Eva was a strong independent woman who wanted more for her girls than she had. You were lucky to have her in your corner. She was a talented seamstress and demonstrated her creativity in many different forms notably her stained glass work. The same precision and attention to detail she devoted to her time as lab technician at Maple Leaf Mills (before and after she was a stay at home mom) resulted in her excellent cooking skills. Eva was insightful, witty and had a great sense of fun. She faced her lengthy illness with fortitude. Eva unselfishly gave us her love and the gift of a lifetime of memories. Our sadness is tempered with her peace and the thought of her joyfully dancing again. To honour Eva’s wishes the family will celebrate her life with a private Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Parish. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Eva’s name may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #100 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB., T2N 1Z6 (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at www.cooksouthland.com) Honoured to serve the family is
