1940 ~ LORETTA JANS ~ 2019
Posted: November 6th, 2019Loretta Jans, beloved wife of Edgar Jans of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019, at the age of 79 years. Loretta also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Deb (Dan) Noga, Warren (Sandra) Jans, Denise (Ernie) Welz, & Corinne Jans; her grandchildren, Joyce (Shane) Krause & children Laila & Daphne, Sheldon (Katina) Noga & children Jessica & Axle, Lisa Jans (Dillon Fauser) & son Lemmy, Tracy (Kyle) Konynenbelt & son Kade, Carla Jans (Sean Starosta), Kevin Welz, Kyle (Crystal) Welz, Bryce (Shanelle) Welz; her sister ,Marjorie Hyatt; her sisters-in-law, Aase Bauer, Florence Jans & Gertie Jans; her brother-in-law, Elmer Jans; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Loretta was predeceased by her parents, Gottlieb and Meta (Knodel) Bauer; her parents-in-law, Fred and Elizabeth (Sulz) Jans; and her brother, Horace Bauer. Loretta will always be remembered for her love of others, her kindness and generosity, her bright smile and her sweet and caring personality. She always insisted on hosting all the numerous family gatherings every year; of course she also had to make all the hot foods and the rest of the family could bring salads and desserts. Loretta loved gardening; always growing enough vegetables to feed a few families every year. In her ‘spare’ time, Loretta hauled bales, worked the land, fed lots of exotic animals and birds, took care of a large yard with lawn, flowers and trees, took care of children, then grandchildren, and even found time to sew, do crafts, and teach herself to play the organ, piano, and accordion. The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice for their excellent care of Loretta. A Celebration of Life will be held at VICTORY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2793 Southview Drive SE, on Friday, November 8th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Bredeson officiating. Interment will follow at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Loretta’s memory may be made to the Carmel Hospice at St. Joseph’s Home, 156 – 3rd Street NE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5M1.
