1933 ~ 2019

Ed Matsalla passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice with his family by his side on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the age of 86 years. Ed is survived by Dorene, his loving wife of 63 years; their children, Rick (Janet) Matsalla and children, Mandi (Chris) and Geralyn (Darren); Leanne (Owen) Telke and their children, Ryan (Tanya), Kaitlin (Justin) and Kyle (Danielle); Lynda (Roger) Biemans and their daughters, Danielle (Bryan) and Janessa (Cody); Kelly (Sheldon) Kurpjuweit and their children, Robin (Kirsty), Sara (Zane) and Chelsey (Aaron); Debbie (Darcy) Brandt and sons, Remington (Erin), Mitchell (Jewelisa) and Clayton (Megan); Jim (Kari) Matsalla and their daughters, Kevyn (Mitch) and Cierra (Brennan) as well as 27 great- grandchildren and two sisters, Leona and Lorraine (Peter). Ed was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Lena; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest (Cecilia) and Lawrence (Shirley) as well as his brother-in-law, Garry. Ed was born and raised in Yorkton, SK area with his four siblings. He was so very proud of his family of 71 and loved the noise (without his hearing aids in) A private family celebration will be held to honour Ed’s memory.
