EDWIN KLAUDT

Mr. Edwin ‘Ed’ Klaudt, beloved husband of Della, passed away at the Good Samaritan Society Southridge Village in Medicine Hat on Monday, December 23, 2019, at the age of 91 years. Along with Della, Edwin leaves to cherish his memory: children, Verla Diamond (Keith Gerrard), Lavern (Marie) Klaudt, Brenda (Ron) Schimpf, Lyle (Carrie) Klaudt; grandchildren, Kyle (Lisa Marie), Ryan (Kayla), Amber, Chad (Haley), Amanda (Devon), Patrick (Sophia), John Lloyd, Steven (Lecia), Michael (Alyssa) and Jayden; great-grandchildren, Tucker, Alba, Dylan, Ryker, Ken Caspian, Benjamin, Nixon and Harlyn. He is also survived by Della’s children and their families: daughters, Debbie and Karen; grandson, Matt (Shana) and their two children, Raleigh and Rorik; Jim and his three children, Nolan, Averly and Jeffrey. Edwin will be remembered in the hearts of his siblings, Herb Klaudt, Emma Tschritter, Freda Jeske and Lorraine Rathwell; sister-in-law, Ester Klaudt; sisters-in-law from the Christman family, Emma and Viola; sisters-in-law from Della’s family, Florence Wagenaar, Audrey (Ken) Carson and Janet Danilchuk as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Along with his first wife, Violet Klaudt (nee Christman), Edwin was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Klaudt; his parents, Emanual and Hulda Klaudt; two brothers, Richard and Leonard Klaudt; sister, Evelyn Spiry; brothers-in-law, Ed Tschritter, Howard Jeske and Herb Rathwell; sister-in-law, Shirley Klaudt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Christman family, August (Ida), Bill (Bea), Freda (John), Emil (Amelia), Herb (Kate), Phillip, Albert, Rueben (Rose), Pauline and Clifford (Esther). Edwin was born to proud parents, Emanual and Hulda (nee Heine) in Golden Prairie, Saskatchewan on January 15, 1928. He ranched and farmed up until the age of 28 when he moved to Medicine Hat to work for Van-Redi Mix Ltd. His career with them spanned over the next 32 years before his retirement. Edwin loved the outdoors and relished in each opportunity to go camping with family or friends. Ed would never turn down a game of cards with his friends or family. Ed’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at the church starting 1 hour prior to the service. The service celebrating Edwin’s life will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, 300 Primrose Drive S.E., Medicine Hat on Monday, December 30, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor George Koopmans officiating.
