With heavy hearts, the family of Mrs. Rose Pudwell, beloved wife of Mr. James Frederick Pudwell, announce her passing at Masterpiece Southlands in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, on their 69th wedding anniversary. They were married in Calgary, AB., on May 12, 1951. Rose was born and raised on the farm near Fox Valley, SK., and was a devoted mother and homemaker to their seven children. Rose took pride in her home and was very meticulous and neat, so much so you probably could eat off her kitchen floor. As she would always say, “Don’t do a half ass job!” Rose loved to read, especially Danielle Steel novels. She also enjoyed camping having built a cabin on Lake Newell with long time friends Frank and Rose Lanz. Rose and Jim belonged to many clubs and enjoyed dancing every chance they got. They loved to travel whether it was trips Jim won to Paris, Hawaii and a Caribbean cruise or going to Mexico in their motorhome. Rose’s greatest achievements were raising and loving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The last few years Rose spent at Masterpiece Southlands. There, she created a second family with all of the staff whom she held dearly in her heart. Rose’s memory will be lovingly treasured in the hearts of her family: husband, James; children, Alexis (Don) Anderson, Adrienne (Randy) Fischer, Prudence (Ken) Chambers, Orr (Donna) Pudwell, Clyde (Mata) Pudwell, Gaye (Garth) Russill and Deye (Len) Dirk; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kyle, Stuart, Alissa, James, Joel, Jenny, Alex, Abby, Nicole, Kelli, Braydon, January, Jeffrey, Kristyn, Tara and Clint; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Eva Ehrman, Betty Noack, Harry Immel, Marg Eslinger, Marlene Sadlemyer as well as good and longtime friends, Frank and Rose Lanz. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Katherine Immel; brother-in-law, Don Ehrman; nephew, Brent Ehrman and son-in-law, Kelly Benson. A private family celebration of Rose’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, with grandson, Kyle Jacober officiating.
