LEO BAUMANN

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leo Richard Noel Baumann announce his passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the age of 83 years.  Left to cherish Leo’s memory are his three children and their families: son, Raymond Baumann and his children, Bailey (Braiden) Bodin and their daughter, Vera, Courtney (Mark) Printz and their son, Rhett; Logan Baumann;  Clayton (Darla) Baumann and their sons, Lane and Cole; daughter, Carla (Henry) Hansen and their children, Evan (Sarah), Kelsey (fiancé, Gabe Degenhardt) and Carter Hansen as well as the   mother of his children, Pat Baumann. Leo is also survived by his siblings, Yvonne Benesh, Frances (Pete) Heise and Frankie (Carol) Baumann;  brother-in-law, Paul Lewans as well as  numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Julia in 1949; father, Frank in 1970;  sister, Margret Lewans; brother, Lawrence Baumann; sister-in-law, Erika Baumann as well as a brother-in-law, Ed Benesh. Leo farmed in Swift Current for a while then moved to Medicine Hat in 1972 where he worked as a plumber and started his own  plumbing business. He was also a successful landlord. Leo would buy older homes and the family would work together to renovate them. He enjoyed his daily afternoon coffee time with friends at the Co-op. Leo enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards and traveling. A Celebration of Leo’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Friday, June 19, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with Major Murray Jaster officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  As a courtesy, the celebration of Leo’s life will be live streamed through Cook Southland’s website.
