1948 ~ Alexander “Al” Schafer ~ 2020
Posted: July 24th, 2020Alexander ‘Al’ Schafer passed away suddenly on July 21st, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Marj Schafer and Loretta Schafer and their families, as well as nephews, Derrick Schafer and Logan Riddell. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Rosie; brother, Joe Schafer; and nephew, Dustin Riddell. Al was raised and educated in the Schuler area and was employed as a mechanic for a few years prior to his accident. He also helped his father farm. At the age of 26 years, he moved to Medicine Hat and eventually started Paals Accessibilities. He loved to play the accordion and he enjoyed his family and friends. A Celebration of Al’s life will take place on Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB with Gary W. Goran officiating. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to 100 people including funeral staff and clergy. I’m deeply sorry for the loss of Al…he was a great guy/customer of ours at Crestwood Pharmacy. He will definitely be missed.
