1954 ~ 2020

Richard Antoni Malitowski passed away peacefully on August 4, 2020, at the age of 65, with the love of his family surrounding him.

Richard was born in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1954 to Antoni and Adela.

Richard’s passion for life was undeniable. No matter where his life took him, he made an everlasting impact to his community and the people that surrounded him. In his younger years he was a successful business owner, councilman, and volunteer firefighter in Picture Butte, AB. His integrity was his badge and he wore it proudly. His generosity will go unmatched and will forever resonate.

He had a distinguished career as a member of The Construction and Specialized Workers Union for over 40 years. In serving many of those as President, he used his passion and knowledge on pension boards, legislative boards, and was a key advocate for workers’ rights in Alberta. Richards other passions included gardening, watersports, his animals, volunteering and providing for the less fortunate.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra (nee Kleim); sons Stacey (Jen) and Chris (Jennifer), and his grandchildren Dyson, Thoran, Ava and Owen and sister Wanda.
