January 11, 1933 ~ August 11, 2020

Beatrice Eileen Hirsch, beloved wife of Peter Hirsch, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the age of 87 years. She was born on January 11, 1933, in Golden Prairie, SK., and went to school in Golden Prairie and Medicine Hat. Beatrice married Peter John Hirsch in Medicine Hat on June 30, 1951, starting their married life in Tunstall, SK., where Peter worked as an elevator agent. A few years later, they started farming full-time, moved to Golden Prairie and continued to expand their farming operation until their retirement in 1986, when they moved to Medicine Hat. Peter often called Bea his ‘right hand man’ as she was an excellent farmer’s wife. Beatrice not only worked on the farm but also at the local general store. Their house always welcomed many friends and neighbours for social gatherings. She loved to sing and play the electric organ and was an avid gardener which included both flowers and vegetables. She participated in curling, bowling, golf and loved to watch the Blue Jays with Peter. Her fondest vacations included a road trip with family to Seattle in 2011 to watch the Blue Jays and a family Christmas vacation to Disney World in 1993. Along with her beloved husband, Peter, Beatrice will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of her children, Charlotte (Wayne) Wheeler, Braden (Margaret) Hirsch and Michelle Hirsch; grandchildren, Ryan Wheeler, Kevin Gejdos, Jordan (Alyssa) Hirsch, and Devon (Kristy) Hirsch; great-grandchildren, Dylan Gejdos, Brooklyn Gejdos, Oakley Wheeler and Willow Hirsch as well as her brother, Stan (Gail) Sulz. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Natalia Sulz; sister, Lillian Kohls; brother, Marvin Sulz; granddaughter, Yvonne Gejdos and daughter-in-law, Lesley Hirsch.
