1930 ~ SHEILA VOGEL ~ 2020

Sheila “Laura” Vogel of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, August 14th, 2020 at the age of 89 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lindsay Vogel, Jean (Wayne) Crawford, Joan (Wallace) Jewer and their families; sister, Grace Janke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sheila was predeceased by her son, Larry Vogel; great great granddaughter, Ryder Lily; brothers, Robert, Lindsay, Dalton, David, Albert, baby Armor (died as an infant); sisters, Ethel and Viola. Sheila was a collector at heart, she loved collecting antiques and anything that was her favorite color, “Red”. She was a regular at Schlenker Auctions and carried card #1 every time. Sheila loved writing poetry and spending time with her family. Sheila’s great sense of humor will be remembered by all. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Thursday, August 20th, 2020 at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE. from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at 1:30 pm on Friday, August 21st, 2020 at FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD, 395 Ninth Street SE. Family are invited to attend the interment, please meet at the cemetery gates at 11:45 am. Due to Covid-19, attendance is limited to 100 people including staff and clergy. Please wear Sheila’s favourite colour, red, to the service in her memory.     SHEILA WAS A NEIGHBOUR FOR MANY YEARS. WE SHARED A LOVE OF ANTIQUES AND I AM STILL USING A SET OF OLD CURTAIN RODS THAT I GOT FROM SHEILA. SHE ALSO LOVED ANIMALS. ONE CHRISTMAS MORNING OUR DAUGHTER WHO WAS ABOUT 10 AT THE TIME TOOK OFF DOWN THE STREET IN HER PAJAMAS AND RETURNED WITH A HUSKY TYPE PUP WITH FEET AS BIG AS SAUCERS. SHE HAD PURCHASED THE PUP SECRETLY FOR A BAG OF DOG FOOD! I SEND MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY . SHEILA’S CHEERFUL SMILE AND LOVING NATURE WILL BE MISSED. DAWN KNOWLES
