WYSE

Posted: August 30th, 2021

Our beloved, Helen Patricia (Pat) Wyse passed away on August 24, 2021 in Red Deer, AB after a short and aggressive battle with cancer; her loving and devoted husband, Bill Wyse by her side. Pat was born November 20, 1938 in Bently, AB, to her proud parents, Grant and Helen Sanders (nee Cameron). Her mother, Helen passed away in 1968 and her father, Grant married Alma Sanders who became Grama and Great Grama to Grants family until her death in 2017, surviving Grant since his passing in 1994.

Pat is survived by her three daughters, Katherine (Kate) Wyse, Sherilyn Ewing (Keith) and Kim Wyse (Darin). Her grandchildren Randall Brosnikoff (Robyn), Sommer-Lee Boksteyn, Raquel Wells (Les), Madison Lewis and great grandchildren Carson, Charlee, Taylor, Ryker and Andrew all feel the overwhelming loss of a loving Mom and Grandma.

Her extended family includes her brother Bill (Renee) Sanders, Margaret Anne Vogel (Victor), Marilyn Sanders as well as nephews Randy, Jemi, Jason, Shane, and her niece Marcia.

Pat and Bill were married in Bentley, AB and have enjoyed 64 years of wedded bliss as they moved around Alberta, living in Retlaw, Enchant, Medicine Hat and finally settling in Central Alberta for their retirement. Pat is Bills sweetheart for life and they have weathered some storms, enjoyed triumphs, and raised a loving and caring family.

In 2005 Pat suffered a debilitating stroke which left her unable to walk, sadly she was unable to continue her dream of running a bed and breakfast on Gull Lake and her life continued on in a different capacity with her husband, Bill always by her side as he cared for her daily.

Pat was an entrepreneur at heart and spent many years creating and running successful business ventures. She was very involved as an Interior Designer and created many beautiful spaces for her friends and clients. Pat gave of herself, volunteering with her local churches where she put her talents to work by decorating an enormous, live singing Christmas tree! Always the entertainer, she was renowned for her hospitality and her incredible culinary skills. An invitation to Pat and Bills house meant you would be served the absolute best. Their home was the gathering place for relatives every year for special holidays.

It was not uncommon to see Pat sitting at a piano, playing any song by ear, and singing along to her favourite hymns. She always created beautiful and restful spaces for her family and friends and her home was filled with laughter and people who were fortunate enough to spend time with her. Her upbringing in the Pentecostal church solidified her faith, and her love of God and people showed in her commitment to prayer and ministry to others.

Wife, Mother, Grand Mother, Friend. You will be missed by many and are so loved by many more. “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” Psalm 23:6

A private family memorial will be held, facilitated by Eventide Funeral Home in Red Deer.
