1924 ~ BERTHA SCHIMPF ~ 2021

Bertha Natalie Schimpf of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, August 27th, 2021 at the age of 96 years. Bertha leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Vivian Glesman; nephews, Dwight (Laurianne) Schimpf, Larry Schimpf, Kevin (Natalie) Schimpf, Lance Schimpf (Aline Bouhamdan); niece, Elaine Hausauer (Dale Glasier); as well as their families. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Katherine Schimpf and her brothers, Eddie, Harold, and Wilbert. Bertha was born in a farmhouse in Estuary, SK on October 31st, 1924. She received her early education at the nearby rural schoolhouse and then went on to graduate from Hillcrest Christian College. In 1955, she moved to Calgary, AB where she accepted a position as an office clerk with United Grain Growers. A few years later she changed professions and started working at the Foothills Hospital in the Housekeeping Department. In 1975, Bertha moved to Medicine Hat and accepted a housekeeping and child-care position with a local dentist. When time allowed Bertha loved to travel. She was especially fond of her trips To Hawaii. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts, and baking; family reunions, picnics and the annual long-weekend getaways were something that Bertha always looked forward to. Bertha was most proud of her family and held them close in Faith, Love and Prayer every day. Above all, Bertha loved her Lord, Jesus Christ and lived her life in Faith, knowing that one day she would be united with Him in Heaven. Her family will hold in their hearts their loving memories of Betha, comforted by the knowledge that Bertha is now in her Glory in Heaven.
