Posted: July 18th, 20221940 ~ 2022
The family of Rene Charles Boey, beloved husband of Delores, are sad to announce his peaceful passing in the comfort of his home on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the age of 82 years. Rene married Delores (Dede) Depape (of Forget, Sask) on November 9, 1960 in Medicine Hat and began their family after moving from Forget, Sask to Medicine Hat. Rene worked at the Medicine Hat Hospital and the Medicine Hat Diagnostic Lab in his younger years and then transitioned into the oil and gas industry until his retirement in 1988. Rene took pride in home improvements, renovations and meticulously maintaining a beautiful yard and home. Upon completion of each days projects and chores, Rene could be heard saying, “Well it wasn’t a wasted day!” while enjoying a cold beverage. Rene will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Delores Boey; daughter, Cheryl Woods (Chris Choate); son, Craig Boey; eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Jeanne (Donvil) Boey and father, Charlie Boey; brother, Alphonse Duane Boey, sister, Doreen Boey, mother-in-law, Laura (Vandermeulen) Depape, father-in-law, Nick Depape; daughter, Valerie Schlosser (Boey) and son, Gregory Boey. Rene will be silently remembered by his family and friends. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at www.cooksouthland.com) Honoured to serve the family is
