Gisela “Auntie” Anderson was welcomed into heaven on July 15, 2022, at the age of 77 years after courageously battling through health concerns over the last year. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Sarah (Ryan Bowley) Anderson, siblings Lila (Erwin) Klose, Bert (Janet) Trudering, Harry (Anna) Truderung, and Hella (Eugen) Striefler; also treasuring her memory are her special nephew & niece Andreas & Kim (Lucy & Judah) Striefler and Renate & Clark (Brody & Mikayla) Kurpjuweit. As well as numerous deeply loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Ludwig and Martha Truderung and sister Irene (Gustav) Schaefe and Kenneth Anderson. Gisela was born in Walle, Germany, on June 17, 1945; at the age of 8 she immigrated with her family to Medicine Hat where they made their family home. Her greatest joy came with the birth of her only child, Sarah. Gisela was a loving mother and best friend to her daughter and was so proud of her. Friends and family played an important role in Gisela’s life, she treasured all of their times spent together. Gisela found joy in nature while on long walks, tending to her flowers, reading, and diving into suduko. She adored babies and had a special place in her heart for Brody and Mikayla, spending countless hours with them on “Auntie Days”. Throughout her career, she developed deep friendships and enjoyed success at City Bakery, Dom Glass Factory, IGA Deli, and over 20 years as Deli Manager at Nutter’s. Upon Gisela’s request please honor her memory by sharing stories over a good meal and taking time to laugh.
