SPYROS DOUVIS 1939 ~ 2022
It is with great sadness that family announce the passing of their husband, father and grandfather, Spyridon “Spyros” Douvis at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the age of 83 years. Spyros is survived by his wife, Christina; his children, Father Ioannikios, Nick (Voula), Pamela, Anastasia (Daniel); his grandchildren, Christina, Spiro, Simeon and Anna-Maria. He is also survived by his sister, Angeliki (Ionannis) and his nieces and nephews, Aleka (Petros), Vlassis (Julie), Yiannis (Amalia), Pamela (Greg), Sophie, John (Georgia), Kostas (Christina), Nikos (Theoni), Katerina (Triphonas), Panayota (Noda) and their respective families, as well as his many god-children. Spyros was pre-deceased by his parents, Ioannis and Panagiota; his brothers, Konstandinos, George
and Demetrios; his sisters-in-law, Panagiota, Kassiani and Anastasia as well as his granddaughter, Eirini. Vigil Prayers will be recited at Evan J. Strong Funeral Chapel, 5502 – 2 Street S.W., Calgary, on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1 Tamarac Crescent S.W., Calgary, on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, please make a memorial donation to help someone in need, just like Spyros has always done.
