Posted: November 1st, 2022 KENT JESSE April 16, 1972 ~ October 26, 2022 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Kent William Jesse in Calgary on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at the age of 50 years. Kent is survived by his daughter, Katelin; mother, Linda Jesse; brother, Todd Jesse; sister Christy (Jason) Wheeldon and nieces, Brooke and Courtney. Kent was predeceased by his father, Larry Jesse; grandparents, many aunts and uncles. Kent was born on April 16, 1972, in Medicine Hat. He was a very bright child and brought joy to his parents with his happy but inquisitive demeanor. Kent graduated with honours from Medicine Hat High School in 1990, and knew his path would be Law in which he received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary. Kent then went on to the University of Victoria where he obtained his law degree and was quickly picked by a law firm in Calgary which grew his career becoming a highly successful lawyer. Kent took great pride in his wins for his clients and never lost a case that went to trial. He was smart and astute with a high degree of diligence in all of his work. Kent always wanted to be a Dad. He was the happiest and proudest man in the world when he and then wife, Angela welcomed Katelin into the world. Katelin was the brightest light in his life and he loved her very much. The last few years were not the easiest for Kent, however, his life began to change when he was fortunate to meet a wonderful lady, Debbie. Debbie’s endless kindness, love and support were helping Kent move forward and get back on track in a positive direction. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Debbie, Rick, Kurt, John and many more friends and colleagues who have been so supportive through this difficult time. A Celebration of Kent’s Life will be held at the Best Western Plaza Hotel, 1316 – 33 Street N.E., Calgary, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at www.cooksouthland.com) In lieu of flowers, donations honouring Kent’s memory may be made to Diabetes Canada. I am so shocked and deeply saddened to hear this…I had been trying to contact him and he seemed so much happier lately. If a family member or friend would please contact me…I would so appreciate same. Kent was one of my longest and closest friends. We practiced law at Miller Thomson for many years and stayed in touch always…I am in total shock as I just talked to him a couple of weeks ago and saw him when I was in Calgary in September…I am so sorry I missed his Celebration of Life. I would have flown from Ontario to come. Kent was one of the smartest people I have ever met and had the biggest heart. I will miss him terribly.
