JOANNE MUTSCHLER
Posted: December 23rd, 2022 JOANNE MUTSCHLER 1943 – 2022 Joanne Mutschler of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday December 17, 2022 at the age of 79 years. Joanne was born September 2, 1943 at the Maple Creek Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory of three children Karen (Shane) Briggs and their children, Hunter, Trey and Tucker; Darren (Michelle) Mutschler and children Brandon (Whitney) Mutschler and Brodie Mutschler; Valerie Mutschler, her partner Jerome Jobb and their children Shayla (Tony) Martin and their three children as well as Zack Jobb; Joanne’s grandchildren Shane (Courtney) Stuber, Samantha Porfoun and her children, Harper and Creed. Joanne was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Edna Muhlbeier. She is survived by her brother Laverne (Barb) Muhlbeier, and two sisters Doris (Late Orval) Beck and Marilyn (Gerry) Beck as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Joanne started her education at Golden Prairie School and then onto Strasfield and Fox Valley, eventually finishing her schooling back in Golden Prairie. Joanne married Lloyd Mutschler on October 28, 1960, in Fox Valley. They settled in Fox Valley on the family farm and eventually moved on to Manyberries and Orion pursuing their own farming/ranching operation. Joanne was a homemaker, farmer, rancher but first and foremost a loving mother. Joanne loved to garden, crochet, play bingo and curl. In the early 1990’s Joanne and Lloyd retired to Medicine Hat. Joanne eventually became employed at the Medicine Hat Mall in the lotto booth where she worked for many years and enjoyed meeting new people. Joanne loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed the company of many friends on coffee row. Joanne loved to dance, go to the casino and play bingo. She became very “techie” after getting her computer and enjoyed games and Facebook. Joanne was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was loved and admired by many who knew her. Joanne passed away peacefully at St. Josephs Home Carmel Hospice surrounded by the family who supported her throughout her health battles. Her family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses, doctors and staff who were with her in her last day’s at the Carmel-Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St Joseph’s – Carmel Hospice. A private celebration of life was held on Thursday December 22, 2022 at the Pattison Chapel.
