ANSON, “ANNIE” LORRINE May 11, 1932 December 14, 2022
It is with sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of “Annie” Lorrine Anson on December 14, 2022 at the age of 90 years. Lorrine is predeceased by her beloved husband William, son Douglas and siblings Ruben Bohnet and Phyllis Hirsch. She is survived by her son Donald and grandchildren Brett (Natalie), Chelsea (Devin), Nicole and Paul.
Lorrine was born in Medicine Hat to parents Fred and Elizabeth Bohnet. It was in Medicine Hat that she met and married Bill and they shared 67 years together. Bill’s career had them make the move to Calgary in 1968. Once the family settled into their new surroundings she started work with Calgary Co-Op until retirement. Lorrine and Bill started a family tradition when they purchased a cabin in Trout Lake, BC. Family and friends gathered there every August for summer vacation for many years, and continue to do so today. Once in full retirement winters were spent as snowbirds in Arizona and the summer months in their RV at Country Lane Estates.
Family meant the world to Lorrine. Her support for her children and grandchildren was unwavering. That love was evident in the years of care she and Bill gave to Doug through his illness. She was a good friend to many, enjoyed a lively party and was a gracious host, an amazing chef and also a force to be reckoned with on occasion.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the wonderful caring people who treated her as family on the Cowboy Trail Unit at Bethany Riverview. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Bethany Riverview Recreation Team by reaching out to them at bcf@bethanyseniors.com.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Eden Brook Funeral Home (17 Avenue SW and Lower Springbank Road). Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.edenbrookcemetery.ca.
