JOHN GOLD

Posted: January 7th, 2023

JOHN GOLD John Gold was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan July 5th, 1948 to Alfred and Lorraine Gold. Always quick to say hello, share a joke and lend a hand he collected friends in every community he lived in from Maple Creek and Cypress Hills to Medicine Hat and then Edmonton. With his entrepreneurial spirit he used his interests and skills to build and operate various businesses throughout his life. Known as “Honest John” he was a jack of all trades and could sell anything to anyone.
Never one to sit still there probably wasn’t an activity John hadn’t tried. He often filled his time with fishing, hunting, skiing, curling, billiards and music. He always had a project on the go where he could tinker in the garage or on a motorcycle, boat, car or home. John’s last few years of life were complicated by pulmonary fibrosis but he was made comfortable with the support of his loving wife Heather.
Survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings John passed peacefully and with dignity at the age of seventy-four on January 4th, 2023 in his home in Edmonton with his family by his side. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Memory of John

A celebration of life will take place this summer.
