With heavy hearts, the family of Ivy Ann Borzel announce her passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the age of 86 years. Left to cherish Ann’s memory are her daughters: Cindy (Keith) Schlosser and her children, Ryan (Steph), their daughters Taylor and Wynter and Ryley (Jessie), their sons, Ryker and Tytan; Shelly (Ivan) Martens, their daughters, Kayla (Tyler), their son Dexxen, Desa (Jeff); and her furry great-grandanimals; brother, Erven (Gail) Mackintosh; sister-in-law, Annette Lawyer; brother-in-law, Bob (Bridgett) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Fred; parents, Ivy and Ernie Mackintosh and son-in-law, Guy Schlosser. Before moving to Medicine Hat in 2014 to be closer to their family, for 50 years, Ann and Fred lived in Swift Current as well as on a farm by Waldeck. Ann took a bookkeeping course in her early years and continued that career throughout her life. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and always looked forward to watching curling. Card playing with family and friends was always a fun event. Ann and Fred traveled for many years with family and friends which provided them and their family with the greatest memories. Ann always said they lived in the best era. Ann was the most kindest, most caring, loving and loyal mother, wife and friend. She always had an ear to listen and was the biggest supporter of her girls, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in whatever they chose to do. The courage and determination that Ann maintained has been an inspiration to those she loved. Her warm and radiant smile, so full of light and love, will be forever remembered. A private celebration of Ann’s life will be held at a later date.
