GARY W. SLETVOLD
Posted: February 23rd, 2023 GARY W. SLETVOLD September 10th, 1949 – February 18th, 2023 Gary was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta and later moved to Patricia, Alberta. He was retired from CFB Suffield where he put in over 25 years of service as a civil engineer and yard foreman.
Prior to being employed at the base, he owned and operated H&G Stucco with his father which then became Sletvold Stucco for several years. Gary was an avid volunteer in many organizations including Scouts Canada, Crescent Heights Lion’s Club, and sandbagging in the flood of ’95. He also enjoyed volunteering his time and material for stuccoing and repairing monuments at Hillside Cemetery and onsite at Camp McCoy. Gary was always willing to donate his time and energy to make life better for children in and around Southern Alberta.
Gary is survived by his wife Grace Sletvold and children Gary (Janet) Sletvold and family, Rachel (Stan) Devoe and family, Nick (Marie) Sletvold, Mary-Ann Sletvold, and Vincent (Genelyn) Sletvold and family; step-children Betty (Victor) Ceron and family, Elaine (Paul) Cummins, and Jon (Shelly) Goebel and family. And many grandchildren. Siblings twin sister Gloria (Gerard) Liboiron and family and brother Glen (Eileen) Sletvold. And first wife Martina Sletvold (mother of Gary’s children).
Gary is predeceased by his Mom, Grace and Dad, Helmer; Sister Marge Wist and Brother Dale Sletvold.

I met Gary back ing the 70’s as we were both in the housing industry. I started work at the Base in ’92 and met Gary again. He was a man with a big heart and a likeable character. We shared many a laugh together. So sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed.
