1957 ~ WENDY NELSON ~ 2023 Wendy Nelson of Bow Island, passed away on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at the age of 65 years. Wendy leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Ken; daughter, Kathleen Longpre (Jason); grandchildren, Makenna, Aiden and Carter; brothers, Everett Smith (Colleen) and Roger Smith; sister-in-law, Bev Renschler (Roger†); brother-in-law, Rod Nelson (Debbie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Wendy was predeceased by her parents, Bernard Smith and Orma Hoose; daughter, Ashley Nelson; brother, Larry Smith; sister, Cathy Smith; mother-in-law, Charlotte Nelson and father-in-law, Stan Nelson. Wendy married Ken Nelson on May 1st, 1976. In 1981, they moved to the farm where she did what ever was needed to help, whether it was helping with the cattle, moving trucks or making lunches. She also worked at Wheeler’s IGA where she made many friends. Wendy was the glue to our family, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with the grandkids and was the best grandma in the world. Every night she would say to Kathleen at the end of their phone call, “give our babies kisses tell them we love them”. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel on Friday April 14th, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 1:55pm, prior to the funeral service. The Funeral Service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Friday, April 14th, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Memorial gifts in Wendy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 220, 6223 2 Street SE, Calgary, AB T2H 1J5.
