CHRISTIAAN HENTO 1935 ~ 2023 Christiaan Hento of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” Hento, passed away on Sunday, May 28th, 2023 at the age of 88 years. Christiaan leaves to cherish his memory his children, Jerry (Cole) Hento of Medicine Hat, AB and Debbie (Wayne) Canning of Calgary, AB; Betty’s daughter, Heather Prefontaine; four grandchildren, Devon (Whitley), Lucas, Mark (Courtney) and Megan; three great-grandchildren, Maya, Jesse, and Molly; his five siblings, Victor (Rhondi), Gerhardt (Norma), Jenny, Annie (Herb) and Ida (Norm); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Christiaan was predeceased by his parents, Gerrit and Jacqueline Hento; his first wife, Henny; son, Tom; and siblings, Henry and Ali. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB, on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm or on Sunday, June 4th, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Sunday, June 4th, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. Interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery, 1605 100 Street SE, Calgary, AB on Monday, June 5th, 2023 at 12:00 pm.
