LORRAINE MARY CROBAR
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Mary Crobar nee (Weldon) at 82 years of age. Lorraine passed away peacefully on Saturday June 3rd, 2023 surrounded by family. Lorraine was born August 15th, 1940 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Helen and Bill Weldon and predeceased by her loving husband Robert “Bud” Crobar and her parents. Left to mourn her passing are sisters, Carol (Emile) St. Amand; Sharon Weldon; children, Rob (Jeanette) Crobar; Karen (Martin) Boutkan; Maureen (Steve) Risling; Laurie (Al) Jacobs. Seven grandchildren, Roman Crobar; Tyler (Amanda) Risling; Cassie (Connor) Skagen; Ryley Risling; Emily Boutkan; Taylor Crobar; Evan Crobar. Lorraine followed her calling to care for people by working as a Registered Nurse, training at Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. After training, her nursing career began in Ile-a-la-Crosse, Saskatchewan where she met her beloved husband. Several family moves happened over the years which meant Lorraine worked as a Registered Nurse in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. She was also a wonderful homemaker and mother of four. With flair, Lorraine created a warm welcoming home and garden wherever the family landed. Family was a priority for Lorraine. It was her nature to put others before herself. She was a wonderful listener, quick to laugh and put others at ease. She was caring, compassionate, generous, enthusiastic and loving of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a phenomenal supporter of her children and grandchildrens numerous activities. A wonderful daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.
Lorraine was a curious lifelong learner. An avid reader, gardener, musician, homemaker, seamstress, crafter, puzzle enthusiast, and lover of a hot cup of tea. Her appreciation of all things natural and nature were unmatched. When the family was together it was a guarantee that there was a puzzle being worked on and laughter surrounding it. Her kindness knew no bounds and reached to all those fortunate enough to know her and call her friend. She will be sorely missed.
A Luncheon will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 2-4 pm at Holy Family Parish, Fatih Room, Medicine Hat, Alberta. (Faith Room entrance through Parish Administration door).

Is there anyone who wouldn’t have fond memories of cousin, Lorraine? She was always very kind and loving. I was flower girl for her wedding and look back at the pictures, fondly. She was a beautiful, kind, person, in every way. Although I hadn’t seen her for many years, it has always been with love and warmth in my heart, when I thought of her. She is with so many she loved now. I can just hear the piano and fiddle playing, along with the laughter. Sending positive thoughts, prayers and hugs, to her sisters, children, grandchildren, and all who loved her as they move through this very sorrowful time.

  3. Stan says:

Deepest of sorrows to Lorraine’s amazing family. She was so caring. Beautiful listener and a wonderfully astute and intelligent soul. It was an honour to have met her and witnessed how capably she lived and loved. Rest in peace beautiful soul.

  4. Jacqueline Ruznisky says:

As Lorraine’s younger cousins, we always admired her. She was gorgeous with a smile that was stunning. And she was a real nurse – fairly impressive to us young girls.
Family gatherings were always more fun when she was there. And if her two sisters were there as well, then it was just crazy fun.
(Remember the family group posing as flamingos in the early morning hours after a night of celebrating? Great memory.)
Sending deepest condolences for your loss We know you will miss her forever.
    Love,
    Sonja and Jackie Ruznisky
