VERN RUFF

VERN RUFF 1942 ~ 2023 Vernon Edward Ruff, beloved husband of 62 years to Marlene, passed away peacefully while in the comfort of his home on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the age of 81 years. Along with Marlene, Vern’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family: daughter, Joni (Murray) and their family, Justin (Amy), Ben (Megan) and Will † ; son, Jim (Angie) and their family, Nico, Noah and Talia; daughter, Kathy (Carmen) and their family, Courtney (Jared), Cameron (Hannah), Paige (Joel), Chad (Brittany) and their son Cooper as well as Austin (Mikaela). Vern is survived by two brothers, Ray (Bernie) and family, Bob (Lyndell) and family as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Along with his parents, William and Louise Ruff, Vern was predeceased by a grandson, Will Bouchard as well as a nephew, Rob Ruff. Vern was born in Medicine Hat on March 8, 1942. While still in High School, he started working with his brother, Ray for their Dad at the family garage, Bill’s Automotive Ltd. They eventually purchased the garage, continuing the family business until their retirement. Relatives and friends are invited to a come and go celebration of Vern’s life to be held in the Cook Southland Reception Facility, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, between 10:00 a.m. and Noon. Casual dress is encouraged for this opportunity to “Have a coffee on Vern”.
