ALINE TURENNE 1931 – 2023
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our mom, Aline Annette Turenne, that at the age of 91 years. She has now been reunited with her husband Dominique and her son Ross in heaven. Aline was a strong and independent woman. She was born on the family farm in Otterburne, Manitoba, the middle child of a family of 11 children. She is survived by her sister Thérèse Bouchard. She married her true love Dominque Turenne, on April 21, 1956. After their honeymoon in Montreal, they made their first home in Winnipeg and began to start their family. Their family grew to include five children, Gilles (Holly), Raymond (Lori), Ross, Annette, and Monique (Ron). In 1977, the family moved to Medicine Hat where they built their first home. The family grew to include nine grandchildren; Jocelyn (Joe), Mitchell (Audrey), Michael (Meagan), Hannah (Joel) , Christopher, Nicholas, Miranda (Lewis) , Jason Peterson, and Alexis Fersovitch, and one great grandson Sebastian. She was actively involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She attended their sporting events, their high school, and University graduations. Aline and her husband loved to travel. They visited every province in Canada, but their most adventurous trips were to the Yukon, and Brazil. For over 40 years, the family would gather at the family home in Medicine Hat to celebrate Christmas together. At this time, her home was filled with all of her children and grandchildren. She loved to garden and was very proud of her tomatoes. She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and playing cards with her friends. When she retired, she took up line dancing and bowling and made many new friends. In 1991, they moved again to a new house which Dominque and Aline built together. She lived in the home with the help of her daughter, Annette, until she passed away after her second battle with cancer. Special thanks to Lorraine Doll, Demi Vandermeulen, and Dennis Paglinawan for their friendship and support. A celebration of Aline’s life will take place at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating.
