LOUIS MILES JOSEPH FRANKOW April 27th, 1958 ~ June 17th, 2023
Louis Frankow of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65 years. Louis leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Monique Frankow; stepdaughter, Raelynn (Neal) Howe; and stepson, Jordan Yake. “Papa Lou” adored, loved, and was very proud of his seven grandchildren, Emma, Rylee, Jade, and Waylon Howe, Paxton, Jayce, and Adalynn Yake as well as their mother, Amber Ouelette; his beloved pets, Tiger and Lucy; his father, Mike Frankow; sisters , Jocelynn Frankow and Collette (Miles) Blust; honourary sister, Patricia (Jay) Brown, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and best buddies, Rob Eirich and Joseph Toby. Louis is also survived by his many friends, colleagues, and brothers and sisters of Local Unions 496, Calgary AB. He was predeceased by his grandparents; mother, Odette (Deedee) Frankow; brother, Marc Frankow, and sister, Roberta Frankow. Louis was born in Gravelbourg, SK. The family lived in Swift Current, SK, where he was raised. After graduating high school, he obtained his plumber/pipefitter trade certificate and was employed with Local Union 496 throughout his career. Louis enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing, playing guitar, travelling, and swimming. His passion became his swimming pool which earned him the nickname, “Louie the Pool Boy.” Many good times were spent in the backyard by the pool with friends and family. The family extends a special thank you to all the Doctors and caregiving teams of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Chinook Regional Hospital (Lethbridge), and St. Joseph’s Home for their continuous care during his illness, you are angels! The Memorial Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB, on Thursday, June 29th, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating.
