1959 ~ ALAN FIELD ~ 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan Matthew Field on July 4th, 2023 at the age of 64. He was a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. Alan is survived by his son, Nathan Field, of Calgary; sister, Mary (Colin) Cooper, of Medicine Hat; and nephews, Dawson (Jessica) Cooper and Derek (Katie) Cooper. He is predeceased by his parents, Jim and Sandy Field, and his sister, Patty Field. He was born January 2nd, 1959 in Vancouver, Washington. Alan was an active, on-the-go fellow who loved the outdoors. After numerous moves in and around Montana and California, the family immigrated to Canada in 1972, settling in Medicine Hat. Alan married Marilyn Hubbeard in June 1984. Deciding to pursue his love of photography, the couple moved to Ontario in 1986 and he enrolled in Fanshawe College. He enjoyed taking pictures of nature and animals. Following graduation, they moved to a few locations across the province. In 1992, Alan and Marilyn welcomed their son, Nathan, into their lives. The family returned to Alberta and settled in Calgary in 2005. Ten years later, Alan had the opportunity to return to Medicine Hat, where he rekindled old friendships and made many new friends. He was glad to get his trumpet out and joined the community band for a couple of years. He loved hunting and fishing, and his favorite colour was probably camo. Alan will always be remembered as a kind and caring person. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 at The Alano Club, 466 Macleod Trail SE, Medicine Hat, AB at 1:00 pm.
