1934 ~ WILLIAM DURK ~ 2023 William Durk of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at the age of 88 years. William leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Gloria Durk; son, Kevin (Dixie) Durk; grandchildren, Michael (Sara) Baird, Laura (Clay) Haluk, Steven (Jessica) Durk, Travess (Amber) Durk and Jeremy (Rachel) Miller; great grandchildren, Arianna and Marc Baird, Leonidas and Alaric Durk, Vincent Durk and Nixon Miller, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by his parents, George and Laura Durk; and his wife, Gerda Durk. William married the love of his life, Gerda, on May 6, 1955 in Empress, Alberta. William and Gerda were married for 67 years. They had two children, Gloria and Kevin. William started with CPR in 1953 and retired at 55 years old. He was also a school bus driver for Empress and Acadia Valley. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. William could fix just about anything; he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. They moved the family to Medicine Hat in 1972, where they resided until his passing. There will be a private Memorial Service held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. A private Interment will follow at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery.
