DORIS BRANDT
Posted: November 9th, 2023 DORIS BRANDT 1934 ~ 2023 Doris Pearl Brandt of Medicine Hat passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the age of 89 years, beloved wife of the late Harland Brandt. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Doyle Brandt (Terryann Syverson) of Medicine Hat; three grandchildren, Pam (Taso) Mikos, Jeremy (Yai) Brandt and Kim Brandt; four great grandchildren, Aubrey, Xavier, Katie and Niko. She was predeceased by her husband, Harland Brandt; her parents, Earl Benton and Heidi (John) Sippola, and one son, Monte Brandt. Doris was born September 2, 1934 in Dollard, Saskatchewan and lived on the ranch near Ravenscrag until grade nine when she moved to Caronport, Saskatchewan where she attended Briercrest Bible Institute. Grades nine and ten she attended Luther College in Regina and the following year she moved to Medicine Hat attending Garbutt Business College for two years where she obtained certificates in bookkeeping and payroll. She married Harland in 1955 and worked different jobs between Medicine Hat and Calgary, moving to meet Harland’s job commitments. Monte was born in January of 1960 and Doyle in October of 1961 so she became a home maker. In 1964, they moved to her family ranch in Ravenscrag, Saskatchewan where they made many friends and great memories. They moved to Medicine Hat in 1983 and she worked odd jobs house cleaning for a number of years. Doris was especially fond of the horses, cattle and animals on the ranch. She enjoyed reading, crossword/wordfind puzzles and movies. She will be greatly missed by friends and family. A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
