1937 ~ JOHN BUCHHOLZ ~ 2023

John Christian Buchholz passed away at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his children, Ross (Madeline) and their children, Vienna and Miranda, Garth (Fiona) and their children, Connor and Braden, Craig, Karen (David) Krause and their children, Jayda, Keaton, and Jenna; Linda’s children, Aubrey (Diana) and their children, Chase and Evanne, Shawna and her daughter, Grace, and Noel (Jeniffer); sisters Ruth Klaudt, Leah Klaudt, and Martha (John) Van Ooyen; sister in law, Doreen Buchholz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his first wife, Helen; siblings, Herbert Buchholz, Clarence (Elvina) Buchholz, Alvin (Delores), Violet (Reuben) Heather, Helen (Fred) Bayer (sadly Helen passed away earlier the same day as John); brothers in law Henry Klaudt and Bob Klaudt; and Linda’s son, Jeremy. John was a gentle and considerate man who was always helping others. He was humble, honest, and kind. John never complained or wanted to be a bother to anyone. While living in Redcliff, John helped many people. If he saw someone in need, he quietly helped them, never wanting recognition for his endless good deeds. He led by example in all he did. Notably, for more than 50 years, John played a key role in Gordon Memorial United Church, the building of the Redcliff Scout Hall, the Redcliff Volunteer Fire Department and with other groups. He was also recognized as Redcliff’s Citizen of the Year. In recent years, he also volunteered at Hillcrest Church. John/Dad/Grandpa will be lovingly remembered and always missed. His parting words will be carried in our memories.

“Thank you.”  “Carry On.” “Love You.” “Take Care.” “Adios.” “See You Later, Alligator.”

A private celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to A.J.‘s Loan Cupboard, P.O. 2 Condolences for “JOHN BUCHHOLZ”

  1. Lorraine Coakes says:

I worked at Redcliff Home Hardware and John was a very dear special man! He would quite often stop by on his way home from the mail with his best friend “Tanner”. Know that he was loved by so many and touched so many people. I will never forget his smile and his popcorn balls. May he rest in peace with the angels in heaven. Lorraine

  2. Joyce Brotzell (Reich) says:

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your dear husband John who was a very kind and loyal friend. May God give you strength in the days to come. His pain and suffering is now over and he is resting in a better place. Joyce
