It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Archie Fischer on Sunday, December 10, 2023, with family by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Delores; his children Karen (Charles) Stuart, Shelley Hengen, Jason Fischer; grandchildren, Christopher (Julia) Adam, Stephanie (Brad), Jamie and Kelsea; his brothers, Leroy, Gerald and Ken (Marlene) and sisters Beverly and Florence. He was predeceased by his parents Adam and Minnie Fischer, his bother Maurice and grandson Jorden. Born in Golden Prairie, Saskatchewan, he then moved with his family to Redcliff . Following high school, he spent five years in the Air Force as a Radio Tech and went on to pursue a career as an electrician. He spent 25 years employed at the Empress Gas Plant as a maintenance supervisor. Residing with his family in Burstall for 25 years, he served on Town Council and was active in all volunteer work. Retiring to Medicine Hat, Gordon enjoyed camping, fishing and travelling with family and friends. Gordon’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for the excellent care he received during his stay there. As well, thank you to the staff at Good Samaritan’s for treating Poppa in such a loving and compassionate manner. A family gathering to celebrate Gordon’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to the Pattison Funeral Home and Crematorium.
