MOLITOR, Marvin Albert
Posted: December 19th, 2023 MOLITOR, Marvin Albert September 28, 1945 December 10, 2023 Marvin was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to August and Viola Molitor in 1945. He was welcomed to the family by his older sisters, Kay and Marlene, and he in turn welcomed his younger siblings, Wayne, Louise and Linda, later on. Marvin and his siblings grew up in the family house in Yellowgrass, Saskatchewan, where life involved chores, grasshoppers, baking sun, bitter cold and school – mixed with a little bit of mischief. Marvin felt the pull of the West at an early age and found himself trying his luck in various heavy industries and quarry operations. It was in the West where he met Linda and together, they created a family. Marvin was proud of his children, Tracy, Jackie and Rodney. Marvin met his long-time wife, Deanna, in Canmore, where they were married and lived for many years. Throughout the years, Marvin and Deanna moved around to Calgary and Medicine Hat, which is where he retired. Marvin will be fondly remembered for his love of spaghetti westerns, Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, fried red cabbage, and farmers markets. Marvin met Phyllis and together they created a lasting bond with each other for the remainder of his days. Marvin was pre-deceased by his parents, August and Viola; his infant twin brother, Melvin; his younger brother, Wayne; and his wife Deanna. Marvin is survived by his siblings, Kay (Vic), Marlene, Louise and Linda, and his partner, Phyllis. He also leaves behind his children, Tracy (Mike), Jackie (Lyle) and Rodney, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. There will be no formal service, but a Celebration of Marvin’s Life will be held at a later date, after he is laid to rest in the spring.
