MERLE ARMELLA ARNOLD March 16th, 1930 February 8th, 2024 It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Merle Arnold, in Medicine Hat on Feb. 8, 2024, at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe Arnold in 1997. Merle is survived by her 4 children: Dan (Peggy), Reenie, Cheryl (Archie) and Vern (Donna). Also truly loved were her many grandchildren/great-grandchildren.
Merle was the third youngest of 13 children and together they sang in beautiful harmony every chance they could. She treasured each and every visit with them and their families.
Mom will be remembered by everyone who knew her. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. She always had a positive attitude, never sweat the small stuff and was quick to tell a joke to make people laugh and brighten their day. She was also known for her passion and talent for knitting and crocheting and she also enjoyed any opportunity to teach someone who expressed an interest.
Her family has many memories of her hard work raising a family; gardening, canning, cooking, baking, sewing our clothes, cutting our hair, supporting our interests, and never disappointed when it came to Christmas, making her traditional cookies and chocolates which she also joyfully packaged for neighbours, friends or anyone she thought needed some kindness. She endlessly loved and supported us as we experienced our own troubles and challenges. She said the love for her children and their love in return was her greatest gift.
Mom expressed her love to many individuals for their care before her passing. Her family would also like to thank you for all the support and compassion you have extended to us these past days. We are sincerely appreciative to all who supported for and concern for her over recent years; Dr. Andre Claassen, Alicia (RN), the staff at Cypress View Foundation, the CBI Staff and the many Emergency Response Dispatchers and EMTs.
Respecting mom’s wishes, there will not be a formal gathering. Messages, stories and photos can be shared on the Tribute Wall at www.gracememorial.com.
Her presence will be missed, her memory treasured, loving her always, forgetting her never
