KASPER FITTERER
Kasper Alban Fitterer passed away peacefully at the age of 87 with his family at his side. Kasper was born in Prelate, Saskatchewan, the oldest of three boys. His mom passed away when Kasper was just eight years old. This is how Kasper came to live with, and was raised by, his maternal grandparents (Karl and Marian Duchscherer). They moved from the farm, into Prelate and finally to Medicine Hat, building a house on Riverside. Kasper attended St. Teresa’s Academy, graduating as the last class out of the academy. Kasper’s memories of this time were full of family and adventures. These memories would give Kasper peace during his final days. Kasper met the love of his life, Irene (Brown), and they were married on July 3,1965. They were together 58 years. Kindersley, Saskatchewan was their home where Kasper worked for Keller & Cameron (John Deere Dealership) as the Controller, Equipment Deliverer, and all-around company ambassador. In the late 80’s, Kasper and Irene left Kindersley and relocated to Stony Plain where they managed a large apartment complex until retiring in 2003 and relocating to Redcliff, Alberta. Redcliff became Kasper and Irene’s new home where they quickly became part of the community. This meant cards, dancing, fishing, Redcliff seniors trips, going to garage sales, and of course family. All of these things kept the hood of Kasper’s car always warm to the touch.
He is survived by two sons and three daughters: Darrell (Pam) of Burstall, Saskatchewan; Brian of Red Deer, Myrna Smart (Ryan Scoular) of Neilburg, Saskatchewan, Rena (Brian) Robinson of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Nola (Rick) Pirart of Bentley Alberta. Both Kasper and Irene came from very large families and created a fairly large family of their own. Kasper knew who you were, who your parents were, and whom you lived beside. He carried you in his heart and to Kasper you were all family. Special thanks to the staff at Meadow Ridge for the care Kasper received over the past two years.
