GORDON THOMAS SAILER
Gordon Thomas Sailer, a gifted artist known for his profound care and compassion, passed away suddenly on April 13th, 2024, at the age of 61 years after battling illness for several months. Born May 9th, 1962, in Medicine Hat, Gordon dedicated his life to his artistic pursuits, leaving behind a legacy of creativity. His mastery of airbrush artwork, mural painting, and screen printing captured the imagination of all who had the privilege of experiencing his work. Beyond his artistic talents, Gordon will be remembered most for his deep love and care for those around him. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and generosity of spirit. Gordon is survived by his mother Joan Sauve, son Arlo (Jerry) Sailer, grandson Branson Sailer, brother David Sailer, sister Allyson (Pat) Honig, sister Carolyn Parchewsky, nieces, and nephews Safra (Rylan) Sailer, Ryland (Chelsea) Honig, Zenon (Janaya) Parchewsky, Javen (Aliya) Honig, Zachary (Sabrina) Parchewsky, Kade Honig, Israel (Callum) Honig, and Valen Honig who will carry on his memory with love. Gordon is predeceased by his grandparents Isabel (Thomas) Sharp, Christian (Matilda) Sailer, father Gerald “Jeb” Sailer, and father Walter Sauve. He was often referred to as Uncle Gordie, sometimes crazy Uncle Gordie; in his formative years, he was a Schmenge brother; to us, he was Dad, and in his later years, he was Grandpa Gord. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Gordon found immense joy in a variety of hobbies. He was a golfer, finding peace on the green. Fishing and camping brought him closer to nature. Gordon was also known for his love of people and living on the wild side, often seen having fun with his family and friends, creating cherished memories that will endure. A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME AND CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub in honor of Gordon. The service will be live streamed.
