Vic is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rose, son Rick (Cheryl) Scharff, daughter Charlene (Joe) Litowsky; grandchildren, Mike Scharff, Carlyn (Jordan) Hood, Mac Scharff, Nick (Kristie) Litowsky, Mason Litowsky (McKenna); great grandchildren, Decker, Cabela andTitan Hood, Alexi, Myah, Nikko and Kapri Litowsky; brother in-law Don (Maryanne) Miller, sister in-law Josephine Miller and numerous nieces and nephews. Vic was born on the family farm in the Robinson District North of Elkwater on May 24, 1931. He attended school at the farm School House about three miles away and continued living on the family farm. On June 16, 1962, he married the love of his life Rose (Miller). They bought the family farm and started their family the following year while continuing to farm and ranch. In 1965, they moved to Elkwater as Vic started working for Alberta Parks as an equipment operator but still farmed. In 1968, they moved the family to Medicine Hat as he started his career with CIS insurance (Co-op) for the next 23 years and retired in 1991. Vic had many interests, playing in his band “The Cypress Ranch Boys” camping with family and friends, golfing, fishing, rodeos, traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Yukon, Arizona, Maritimes, Newfoundland, Florida (were some of the highlights) as well as many bus excursions while retired, playing music in the senior homes, but his greatest love was their friend gatherings and dancing, especially the Polka with Mom (Rose). Even after a full life of travel, he still considered the farm and the Cypress Hills his home and the most beautiful place he had ever been. Rest in Peace Dad. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Sunday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the church one hour prior to mass.
