It is with deep sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Lucille Marie Alberta McFadyen (Hyde) of Medicine Hat. Lucille is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry; her siblings Jean Hyde (Val), Gerald Hyde, Geraldine Gervais (Edward), Rosemarie Gannon (Archie), sisters-in-law Helen of Swift Current and Helen of Saskatoon, Mavis McFadyen and all their families. She was predeceased by her parents Rollande and Harold Hyde; brothers Joseph and Maurice, her in-laws Daniel and Alaine McFadyen; brothers-in-law Ian McFadyen and Lane McFadyen; sister-in-law Patricia Stuart and brother-in-law Wally Stuart. Lucille was born on December 18, 1944, in Moosomin to Harold and Rollande Hyde, the eldest of seven children. On December 2, 1972, Lucille married Larry McFadyen; in her words – her rock. Married life began in Wapella, Saskatchewan then moving to Medicine Hat in 1984. In their 52 years together, they travelled to 120 Communities across Saskatchewan, Alberta and New Brunswick while Larry worked on the pipeline, retiring in 2009. They enjoyed spending time with family, special friends Val and Ken Holderbein, Cary and Dennis Schlemko, Dwayne Cartwright and their families. They attended and enjoyed daily coffee row and monthly birthday suppers. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff on 4 west at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for the great care of Lucille. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Myles Gaffney Celebrant.
